When we arrived in the afternoon in Kandersteg the weather was fine and we were given our tents which we put up. It then started to Rain. It turned out that Ashley and kevins tent had a hole in its outer and it was wet on the inside before they got it. So after some hastle and another tent *which was also brocken we had to go to a disgusting dinner. After another 2 messed up tents they gave them a tent with only one small hole and a brocken zip which was "fixed" with som saftey pins. So after a VERY BAD start we managed to spend a whone day doing a total of nothing.
On our 2nd whole day at kandersteg we went Canyoning. Which was great Fun even though the music on the minibus was not to everyones taste. Compared to last years Canyoning, this year had a lost more variety of jumps, slides and 1 abseil.
Unfortunaltly alex was not alowed to go on the Galcier Workshop as they only let people who are 14 or over do it. Once we got to the mountain hut we had the nicest soup ever but then had the worst night sleep while we had been in switzerland. In the morning we went onto the Glacier were we where we were going to slide down some ice but it was more slipery than it had benn the last 8 weeks so it was a bit to dangerous so toured the rest of the glacier and abseiled down a cravas.

In the Mountains
@ 2008-08-20 – 15:54:02
we have just spent 4 days in the swiss alps going to over the permanent snow line on the second dayand reaching a hight of 2800 meters obove sea level. the first hut we went to on the first day after just having arrived in kandersteg was a very small hut from wich we could see most of the next days walk(unfortunatly we could only see the easy part so it didn't prepair us at all for what was to come. After reaching the 2nd hut in the late afternoon, after very exhausting day of walking some very steep steep mountains kevin was practicly dead from exaustion and laurence was feeling slighly sick but the food was very nice and after having a revitelising sleep we managed the 3rd day easyly enough to reach the nicest hut any of us had ever been to. the last day was easy enough (and a vey beautiful aswell) as it was all downhill and the a 3 hour rest to reach the post bus to the train station where the train too us back to kandersteg.

When in Rome!
@ 2008-08-15 – 18:05:09
This morning to avoid the mistake we made in Naples we forced our selves out of bed at the ungodly hour of 9:00. First we went to see the famous Trevi fountains, the place was packed but still it was worth the visit. Then we went to see the monumento a vittorio emanuele II which was very impressive. After that we went to see the Colosium, We must have looked like proper tourist's as we were offered a guide around the Colosium in English. The Colosium was huge and well worth the tour. We attemted to visit the Pantheon but it was closed due to a religious festival and so we had to take the photos through a crack in the door. There was still some time left in the day so we went to Castel Saint Angelo which drew a satisfying end to the day.

@ 2008-08-14 – 12:26:03
yesterday we had another HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTday in pompeii and lost of anoying italians tring to get us to buy their stuff and once matt when he got a bit anoyed simply said no , hehehehehehehe!
its dificult to find out which train it is that we have to buy the tickets for and then actualy finding it as train tickets only count for the 1 train you bought it for and another thing which makes it even more harder after you've half under stood what they mean, almoast ALL the fixed signs in the stations are WRONG.Today we were planning to go up Mt vesuvius but unfortunatly by the time we had got to the bus station int ercoloco it was to late to go up as we have a train to rome at 2.00pm so we couldnt go!! =-(
Naples is a wierd place as most of it is a bit run down, the bit by the coast is nice!! with a nice view. But still having a Good Time (Said Alex)
